thanks for letting us all know, kits are bare and rough BUT well worth the money though. shame ive already got a few otherwise i would be buying some more...these would be great for a special paint job or just getting them finished... safe riding to all and WISHING YOU ALL A MERRY CHRISTMAS...

  6. Guiseppe, I purchased one too :o)))

Lotuskermit, I prefer rough kit, I'll paint it as the stock one, with only little piece of apparent carbon at the place of the black strips and Ducati logos ....

I don't like the Ducati Performance carbon kit, too much carbon for me ...

It's the first time a see a rough kit to sell, it's a very good opportunity at this price ...

    Cheers

I ended up buying one aswell, i just couldnt allow them all to be sold off at that price and then regret it next week. still Christmas has come early for some MHe owners... maybe next week someone at the Termi factory might have loads of surplus full titanium systems going for same price ??? now that would be nice...I offered him 550e,but not enough but finally 580e wasagreed and he accepted so if anyone else wants to buy kit, this is the lowest he will accept. well worth it....

The Carbon Kit arrived today, extremely well packed and just as the photographs. The panels themselves are all in good shape. There is no mudguard. Yes they are all unfinished and will require careful fettling before they are painted and laquered. But there is nothing drastic that I can see that is the matter with them. A good company like Dream Machine will soon have them finished. I will post some photographs over the holidays of the parts. For a little over 550 Euros they are excellent value for money and the seller was really helpful. Highly recommended.

  13. My kit delivered today, in good condition as Guiseppe said !

Reventon, it's an original Carbon Dream kit, but not paint. Very beautiful and light parts !
The advantage is that you can chose your paint !

  17. My Carbon kit arrived this weekend, delay due to snow at this end, 18Dec/14Jan glad to see back of it. As for Kit it is as what has been described needs preparing!!

    Question

My question is how do I polish up carbon fibre so it has a clear sheen as I intend to paint Red with carbon showing, not sure on design yet any suggestions would be appreciated.

I would suggest that you clear lacquer the whole thing once the red paint has been applied, that way you have a consistent finish.

  20. Yes Pics, would be nice. I got my carbon Kit in the mail, it is a bit rough as described , a basic starting surface, not hard to prep for painting I dont think. I have some nice ideas but probably wont start till Spring , money. As soon as I am done Ill post some pics. As Guiseppe said you want to clear coat the final product, I am sure this carbon deal will inspire some unique paint jobs.

  21. Hi All,

I understand the prep work required prior to painting, but how do I have the carbon area's that is to be on show polished up befor lacquer is applied. At the moment the carbon has arrived dull and chalky looking. How and what do I use to clean it up, help is appreciated.

  22. After some sanding, going all the way to a fine grade, then clear coat lacquer it will shine like no tomorrow. The chalky will turn glossy. Test it with some spit on you finger...... you will be impressed

Are the mounting holes drilled? Has anyone fitted the windscreen and does that line up properly? The O.E. body is hardly perfect, but I don't want to have to drill through the carbon to get this kit set up.

Holes are drilled, you need to transfer over the hardware from your original panels eg wellnuts, supports etc. My original screen alignment is good, if you loosen the mounting bolts to the screen you can get minor adjustment of the screen and then retighten when your happy.
As stated in previous posts these panels require sanding and final prepartion before either painting and or clear coating. Personally i liked the idea of unfinished panels (and reduced cost) as it will allow me to put my own design down.

    Cheers

the listed price of 600 euros does include 19% italian sales tax,
which can be substracted if the kits are sold to a non european country.
the seller is aware of that fact and will reduce the price if asked
    in advance.

    regards to everybody
